The Melody Lingers On

October 4 - November 3

This first show of our Silver Anniversary Season is a re-imagined look at the very first show we produced in 1995. Intimate, original, funny, and exciting, this cabaret revue is a celebration of Irving Berlin, the father of the American Songbook. His career spanned six decades and touched every aspect of popular song, including standards (“Always”, “Blue Skies”, “How Deep Is The Ocean”), comic novelty songs, Broadway (“There’s No Business Like Show Business” and others from ANNIE GET YOUR GUN), Hollywood (“Cheek To Cheek”, “Puttin’ On The Ritz”), and patriotic songs including “God Bless America”. This fresh look at our inaugural show includes newly discovered songs and fresh, vocal jazz arrangements of standards, as well as Berlin’s signature songs that led Jerome Kern to say, “Irving Berlin has no place in American music; he IS American music.”

Features piano accompaniment.
