MGM Movie Posters

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer produced over 4,000 films. The studio received its first Academy Award for their first musical, The Broadway Melody, in 1929.

Incidentally, The Broadway Melody was also the first “sound film” to receive an Academy Award. Our production, THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT: THE MGM YEARS features tunes from 16 different MGM musicals. In the theatre lobby we have displayed the movie posters from all 16 films represented in our show.

Here is one of our favorites, Till The Clouds Roll By. Have a look at that star-studded cast! This film is represented in our show with Jerome Kern and Ira Gershwin’s tune, Long Ago (and Far Away).
